you may have noticed that a lot of areas have gone to 3.7, this is just a standard network software upgrade which is going to happen. just like in the past when it went from 3 to 3.2 all the way upto 3.6 and so on.

What is happening is EX C&W is being focused on first as that is what Leeds and Watford was. The areas around Leeds are then being converted onto the same network and net id so this is why they are going next.

Basically if you are not ex c&w you are not going any time soon.

The CAID has appeared in some non ex c&w areas but this is for initial testing and some new installs will see cards start to appear as a test. Which is what happened to leeds, which took around 5 months start to finish.

I also have good info on the areas I quoted but like I say you can apply this to other areas like Wales, Northern Ireland, much of the north east and a lot of Birmingham.

I'm in no way saying its not going to happen, all I'm doing is trying to help share with you what I know and trying to help you understand the process and timescales. Which are what I have previously quoted you all
if what you say is correct, how come my card got delivered last monday, yesterday I had another post card from VM saying my old card (Nagra1) will cease to work in a few days and thus make sure new cards are plugged into the box.

I am in pure area (Dewsbury West Yorkshire) and from the post card I got, seems they will switch off N1 next week.

Because you your area has been converted to be an extension of the leeds network. As stated above

All areas will eventually be fed through one super headend (Langley) this is what the upgrade to NGTV is partly about.

If you've had to rescan to get your channels back then your area is now on NGTV platform therefore ready to receive new cards.

Thanks for the replay MonkeyAl. How far out can they go from one area. Barnsley is on Telewest and is probably the closest area to Leeds (in a southerly direction anyway) that is not NTL or ex C/W. I am fairly sure that we used to be fed from Wakefield which I asume will also get sucked into the new Greater Leeds area. Does that also mean that they will continue to radiate out to Barnsley and on to Rotherham and Sheffield or are we now fed from elsewhere?

Just checked the stream info in Barnsley and they are running 1800 and 1841, dont know how long this has been the case but does that mean that we are all set for new cards or do all 3.7 areas have both streams?

Yes you will be getting new cards sent to you soon as well as the other areas listed as they are all on the NGTV platform.

The following Headend has been updated for NGTV:

                  Barnsley
                  Derby
                  Edinburgh
                  Grimsby
                  Leeds
                  Leicester
                  Luton
                  Nottingham
                  Seven Kings
                  Southampton
                  Teesside
                  Uddingston
                  Watford
Bear in mind there are other areas connected to the above listed areas by same netid and will be sent cards as well.
