New cards now dropping through the letterboxes in the Luton and Dunstable areas.
The dirty filthy stinking rotten spoil-sports...
To find out what FTA channels will be left after n1 is switched off, simply remove the card from your rental box, or turn the softcam off on your dBox2, DM, etc

Well I think Ofcom should put their foot down, and order Virgin to stop this iniquitous attack on the citizens of the UK right now!!!
There are Common Law principles at stake here. For example, if the public can prove they have trodden a certain path across private land over a period of 6 years, then that route becomes a Statutory Right of Way.
I can prove my 'all-in' cable access since Jan 2004 (subbed all the way, as well). Do we have a case to take to the European Court of Human Rights here?

if you can prove you have had free TV for the last 5 years with third party boxes, then in my trade union opinion it is now part of your working practice, and you have a good case for constructive dismissal, they have taken away your free TV and forced you to walk away, there was no period of consultation,it was done with out even asking you,it has had a derogatory effect on your life, you are being forced to pay for something you have had free,it is so wrong on so many counts.Comment

but vms argument would be that you were stealing thier signal, however to counter this argument i would say that as there was a cable installed in my home then i am intitled to plug anything i choose in to it.now it would come down to the owners of said signal who have the right to stop sending it to your location ,that is why we have 1 to 5 for free.in law you wouldnt have a leg to stand on.Comment

I dont think it has been tried in a court of law, but it is an interesting case.....
They are supplying it to your home so you are technically not stealing it.
Your receiver is not illegal (Dreambox) the software you use is not illegal. The cable is in your home, and you are entitled to attach a 3rd party receiver to it ( Ithink).
If you where to compare it to stealing electricity, you have to tamper with their meter, and it is that act which is illegal, and therefore you are stealing the electricity.
Yeah, i reckon you would get done, coz they can affor dbetter solicitors than us.Comment

VM are not taking your free tv away you'll still be able to receive fta channels.
I'd love to be in the spectators section in court when you tell em you've been watching encrypted channels for the last 5 years for free!Comment

well there's a petition being raised now..and we would like you to be the one to represent us all and knock on the door of 10 Downing Street and demonstrate our feelings of discontentment and unfairness by a company (several diff names) who have continued to supply services for a decade even though they knew people were having the service for free.........while we all hide behind the nearest wall....FREEDOM!!!
Disclaimer: if you should get locked up for several years then I or anyone I know do not agree with such a foolish irresponsible act....i do not believe in stealing, leaching of any premier services offered by any cable company.....i'll plead the 5th if i am asked to testifyComment
