The end for cable is here, but I have the cheap sky deal offered in the Sat section of DK, and 2 dreamboxes.. I would suggest you look at doing the same...

As far as I'm aware the scottish areas have not been sent any new cards yet so I wouldn't worry.

What you are probably experiencing is a loss of channels either due to a local fault or your area has joined NGTV platform in which case you are ready to receive the new cards, when VM decide to roll them out in your area is up to them.

Sakib as usual mate your correct.

Scotland hasnt had any new cards dispatched to date but I think I am correct in saying that all areas have now been upgraded to 3.7 and are on the NGTV platform. Its only a matter of time just like the rest of the UK.

Today though on sat ( i rarely watched cable for anything other than football) I switched between the Chelsea v. Man City game and Aberdeen v Hearts at lunchtime. At 3.00pm I watched the Birmingham game but could have watched a few others and thats with a shit installed dish that cant get sky uk LOL.

I wished that I had moved to sat years ago.

Yer a motorised sat system is the way to go I've been into sat for many years. I only use cable because the family love watching their asian dramas and I will have to subscribe to Sky for those to keep them happy I could personally live without these channels.

Im a tottal newbie, but "subscribe to Sky for those" not necessarily, there are other ways to get Zee, Sony etc.

Sky are hopeless when you have even the smallest prblem, I have freesat and I have had to email them 21 times and spent hours on the phone just for them to send the signal to my box to activate my card, such a simple task and they have still not sorted it. Useless service man, I wouldnt pay them to p**s on me if I was on fire. Everytime someone from complaints replys they all say different things. What do you expect from Murdochs people, attrocious service avoid at all costs.

Out of principle I wouldnt pay them a sub, I would rather in pay a card sharing server ?5 a month for everything. (in theory)

Been paying cable for a zillion years but they provide the service when needed.

Only other way I know is with cs but someone still has to pay for them. In europe Zee tv is the only asian channel broadcaster and you cannot get a sub for it if you are from the UK. As for subscribing to these channels you ring up the channel broadcasters and not sky as they have nothing to do with them even though the channels broadcast from the same platform. Only the Star channels are included within the Sky sub therefore you have to ring sky for the sub.`

Agreed boomer internet has opened up lots of choice and i have watched games on my pc plenty of times. No problem but if i get the choice to watch them on tv or pc its a no brainer.

Watching footy on PC will be the last thing i will do. I used to do that 5 years ago before i opened my eyes to Sat.

Picture is almost a minute delay, picture freezes quiet a lot and quality its like the one taken with a mobile phone camera.

people should accept reality, FREE tv is over, invest in a dm500S, motorised dish and you will never look back
