need some tech help on connecting vm to dvd rec to tv please

If anyone could help I would be much appreciated am about to throw my dummy out my pram
I have done this before and had it working perfectly, but have had new vm box since then.so will give you as much info as poss.

I am trying to inter connect my tv , dvd rec and vm box .
when i connect vm to tv - perfect on tv ext 2, (scart lead)there is also an aerial lead running from the vm to dvd rec

however when I connect my dvd rec into the mix I get a perfect sound but blue screen .on ext 1,This is connected vm to tv and dvd rec, and dvd rec to tv.all with scart leads
I have tried swapping around leads but no success.

My tv is a Technika , only 1 yo , the dvd rec is a Phillips and the vm is a samsung v box - this is the only thing that is different, we have recently decorated and my onld vm box died--had it 6 years, has been replaced with the new box, have reset system up , the same as I had it before.but hav thisblue screen problem
I am wondering if it is something as simple as a scart given up do I need a different lead with this new box.

On my panny dvd recorder I have to set av2 to rgb and video in the settings as anything else gives me the same as what you're getting.

So check that your new vm box is on rgb output and that your dvd av settings are on rgb.

Also have scart from av1 on tv to tv out on vm box and scart lead from vm recorder to av2 on dvd and scart from av1 on dvd to av2 on tv
