    recording off box

hello first time on this forum
i have a starview 1 box it works well get sky channells etc
i want to upgrade to a box that has a built in hard disk so i can record football or movie and watch later
i have seen ads for the starview 3 with a space for hdd but not supplied
will the dreambox range be the better way to go

    its entirely personal preference m8.

i would go for a dreambox everytime as IMHO they are the best receivers out and have fantastic support as well as loads of different images to suit your choice.

the best thing is since they are linux based and open source images there is usually always a fix faster for them as they can use various emus than other recievers.

    HDD's dont come supplied with dreamboxes either m8, a DM600 takes a 2.5" IDE and the 7020 and 7025 both take 3.5" IDE HDD's

dont need to connect it to the pc except when you flash the image or (manually input the cam- but that is usually done via remote control) or for the (forbidden cardsharing) apart from that if you connect th DB via scart and watch it- i think the DB 800 comes with DVI connection maybe even HDMI
