Hi all got hold of a Telewest Scientific-Atlanta box just want to use it for free channels for the kids room but when i switch it on it says any idears please any help would be greatful

hi m8 wot area r u in?? ie t/w ntl c/w, also when u plug box in wot does the lcd screen say...

c/w just says boot then you hear it booting up then one light on the front keeps flashing will not switch on only when i press left right up it goes into the Guardain thing

just pressed stand by while it said it was performing the update then it said performing fast update to the network went onto another screen mmmm

hi m8 it sounds to me like the box is trying to update, go into em and check ur settins ie def frq/ simble/ netid, if u think these r all ok then u need to do a forced update, the way to do that is when booting up box hold in standby button and ok button at same time the box should then perforn an update...

yes thanks m8 done that but its updateing now about 1 hour numbers and letters on the display on the box ill see how it gones thanks for helping
