depends what you look at on sky+ hd as it can be 720p or 1080i,i know on mine it may be a dish alignment with picture slightly off,but i think my pioneer blu ray has a better picture when playing a 1080p full hd video and dts-hd master audio.
waiting for new series of pacific on sky hd,looks and sounds good.

Sky+ HD Information, Advice and FAQ

also curious if virgin do all their hd channels in 1080,are sky not giving them 720p and 1080i ??

    adjusted thanks

Sky HD supports 1080i and 720p

A Blu ray disc is 1080p
