samsung 2100

hi guys i have virgin cable feed and a standard tv package with my broadband a friend has given me a samsung 2100 cable box
i have tried to connect it but nothing happens just numbers on the front and screen saying something like please wait i only want basic channels how do i go about it

hi m8 wot u will need to do is go into em check freq/simble/net id, if they need changing change to the rite ones..

well i have a dbox so could find it off the service file if thats right as for the em i havent a clue

hi m8 yes go into ur dbox settins rite them down ie netid/freq/simble/ when u have done that i will tell u how to get into em on ur sammy 2100....

hi mate got into the em menu on the sammy i pressed the up down buttons together
do i set the net id freq sym on what do i do after that

will virgin be able to tell i have another box on the system ?

will this box work if i reboot it and plug the cable wire in i have changed the net id and so fourth to match my area

I changed everything but it wouldnt let me change the net id'
i done a reset and it changed to 09999 the smart card says ok when i reboot it just says please wait while we start your services

i have read in a few posts that ntl boxs wont work in telewest areas but some people say they do but just cant find the info on it been looking all aftrenoon mate

ok so uve done the < > standby ok button trick to change net id and now it sits at 09999, now to be honest the best way to get ur net id sorted is take ur box to an ntl area set it up there then bring it back, the only other way is set net id via fun/atmega, but iam not sure if that way works anymore..

hi m8 yes there is another way but u might not like it, any good at lifting chips, and i dont mean the ones u eat ...
