lost all channels except freeview

did rescana and reboot to no avail

I haven't received a new card from viagra, I thought they had to send me a new card for sunscription bix before chnaging to N3. Am I wrong?

To the best of my knowledge cards have not been sent out for your area yet. Only Fife and Dundee have been receiving cards. No idea what box you have but a factory reset and then rescan should sort it. If its a dreambox/dbox2 do not factory reset just delete all channels and rescan.

which box have you got?, if you havent received a card then you arent n3 yet. you will probably need to turn the emulator back on. if you have a starview box then press, MENU-1 5 7 0 then scroll to the bottom and switch the emu to on and exit the menu,s. if you have a different type of box then post your problem in the relevent section and you will get help. regards mdt

HI, thanks for the reply. I have 500c. As I said I tried doing reboot and also brute force scan. What is slow scan I heard people mention?

brute force - slow scan is the same thing. they're probably re-arranging all the channels like they are doing country wide. this is in preparation for the NGTV and eventually N3.

it goes like this :

NGTV/channels re-arranged >>a month or so>> new cards arrive >>(3 to 4 weeks)>> N3 goes live, N1 turned off

if it's a 500c, i'd suggest a new image, there's a DW3.0 just been released with the new frequencies in. i'd flash that, add the 'magic files', set you location, reboot then scan for channels.

oh, look at other TV options as you don't have long left.

Not yet.

I put a new image on and did scan. It finds all the channels but will only show FTA channels. Maybe I need to put something else on. I seem to remember when I first setup box I needed magic files or something?

hi m8, you need to ftp your keys and roms in the var/keys and var/scce using dcc and your router connection. when you have finished re-boot and start the cam emulator and the $ channels should clear. regards mdt

OK, I am beginning to feel that I should have spikey hat and be made to sit in the corner.


I download

Install.exe which I put onto box in var/etc/install.exe
keys directory I copied to var/keys
bin directory I copied to var/bin


I presume I put something in the worng place but I do not know which one?

Sorry mate at work at the moment but the file you are downloading is a tar. I would have thought all you do is place the unextracted file in var/etc/ then reboot your box and go to sky ss1 and let it update.

Yes, thats what I did. Extracted files to desktop. Then ftp'd:

install.exe to var/etc
bin to var/bin
keys to var/keys

Still I see all the channels and even program info but only the FTA channels have pictures. I tried reboot and rescanning. All ideas greatfully received.

maybe I dont have right image. Can you point me at one that works with dreambox 500c. I googled and updated to one which seemed good.

Dont extract anything mate.

Just put the tarball (rar file un-extracted) into to var/etc folder.

then reboot the box.
