Zgemma h9s and vpn what works

Have Zgemma h9s and have VPN (PIA). Installed the vpn on zgemma using Add VPN. put in details and the vpn works but switches off the channels viewing. switch the vpn off and channels come back on. Any ideas what's going on and how do I fix it.

If the channels can be viewed.
Why use the vpn at all.

Switching on the VPN will stop IPTV temporarily as you have to logout from the old and then login from the new IP address. PIA works well on the H9
