I think it would be more of a phew for them, that they have at last closed it down.

Afterall we have had years of free tv, and they will never ever make that money back, as I didnt pay for it then, and if you choose to do it legit, you are still not going to pay for the years you have had it for free... If you get my drift, we are on a no lose situation.....

It is what it is... Its been great though, and I will be gutted when Liverpool goes but heyho....Just have to flick the swith on the Open Media box.

          THE TRUTH
          The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

VM and sky are well aware of the various forums on the internet and know exactly what is happening. The different workarounds on N3 are now well published, and VM will be aware of them. It will only be a matter of how much they will allow. I've heard there is another means of encryption waiting in the wings, so if the c/s goes beyond their allowance, they will clamp down again. The only thing in our favour, is the time/cost factor with the subbed boxes

Another means of encryption beyond Nagra3 ? Nag3 is presently unhackable so what is this step beyond Nagra3

I think vermin are a little worried many of us have broad band and telephone with them and also sub for the basic package just not to take the piss, once nagra3 is throughout the country a lot of people are jumping the ship over to sly, and I dont think it will be long before sly improve there telephone service and BB, then vermin will be ~~~~ed...chuck

it is cyclic though. Going back to the old jerrold boxes and the first eurovoxes, VM turned a blind eye to them. They knew of their existence, but were gaining that many customers off sky. At the moment, the tide is turning and people are returning to sky, but my belief is that it will be short lived. If/when cardsharing is mastered, and smaller, local private servers are setup, cable will return. Cable will always be the better medium for transmission

My theory on the whole issue if sly and vermin sat down and agreed a price to customers for the full package, lets say ?20/ month for everything, everyone would subscribe, no one would bother with dodgy boxes, but we all know this is not going to happen...

When sky first took off, they had 1 package and you paid a small payment for all channels.

Then Greed took over, not just from sky but for Footballers and High wages, and Football clubs wanting massive TV rights. Thats where we pay for it these days.

And let us see what happens to sky when football goews tits up, because i would bet that most people only have sky for the football.

Once the football goes tits up ( and its starting to show that now with the massive club debts ) I will then be happy with maybe Freesat.

I think Virgin Media will always win the war for broadband, as they are far superior to its competitors.

the government are encouraging the suppliers to provide cheap affordable packages, and competition should be healthy for the consumer, but sky and VM have the monopoly. To a point, they can charge what they want. Its just a shame there isn't a greater choice of suppliers to make it more viable to us and eliminating the need to go in through the back door
