I have xl tv xl phone and xl bb for ?52.odds

Also have v+ box but paid that separately under an old deal.

Took a few phone calls with threats to leave to sky, not much of a discount but every little helps.

Get your self an offer from sky, free install, free box etc,all sports and movies, bb and phone, any addtional freebies,ie 3 months free phone rental.Take this offer to virgin and they will match it.
Don't worry about the lack of HD content as the V+HD box is brilliant. The hype about HD is crap, sky's is 720p virgin is 1080i.True HD is 1080p ie. blue ray.All studio actors wear make up the only detectable difference is when you put your face right up to the screen and it's slightly clearer on HD.We all don't have 20/20 vision!
Don't bullshit your offer because they monitor sky's packages.
The sports and movies packages are not compulsary for 12 months and can be turned off ie for the football close season.
The ?49 box fee equates to 2 months free Xl TV package which is needed to get all HD channels, and can be negotiated.
Keep phoning till you get your deal.
