    Self Installing 2nd Cable Box

Now being the proud owner of a dreambox im wondering if its possible to run a cable from the box outside to my bedroom and use my virgin box as a 2nd freeview box?

yes it is possible, you will need a cable splitter. but you may get some signal loss on your dreambox and have to buy a booster.

would i install the splitter on the outside box? My current virgin box registers a "good" signal strength i presume thats like bars on a mobile dont mean much.

What sort of wire would i need also where is a good place to get it from maplin?

The cable will cost you about a quid a metre at maplins.

Also you will need connectors etc.

I split mines over 10 metres and didnt need a booster.

            Where you from ptrcook.

            Your names familiar?

get some decent grade satellite cable cant remember which but when you buy they should have a couple to choose

you should be able to run the splitter from your box outside to the bedroom no problem

if you find you need a booster for any signal break up try argos as they have a no quibble guarantee on every thing so its very easy to take back

sounds like a plan. So i would just need the coax cable and a adaptor that goes into the back of the box. would these 2 do?

                    this cable
