New Cisco box.

Hi.

I know the cable scene is on its bum but thought i would ask anyway.

This morning i got my dedlivery from virgin, it is a Cisco HD box. it is not the 3 tuner box just a HD box.

I noticed that there is no smart card with the delivery. Is this an IP box or similar?

are there any hacks or mods that i can do to this box?

mate take care if you read the top of the cable forum page you will see that
"no discusions on hacking cable providers equipment is pemited"
as for the box i have never seen one or i have not seen anything on here about them

this is the non PVR HD box from VM .. did you get charged a one-off 50 quid.. cos if you didnt then I would like to know how you got away with that, as I am after this box and was quoted 50 pounds and will XL TV package you get most of the HD channels

you should already have your VM card which you stick into the back of the box and phone VM up and they authorise it.

I GOT BOX FOR FREE CAUSE I HAVE V MED IN BEDROOM MUTI ROOM I THINK ITS CALLED. 5 A MONTH MORE CAN CANCEL AFTER 1 MONTH AND KEEP BOX I WAS TOLD

error 3009 is wrong smart card in box

As said earlier. Check the packaging as there will be a card in there. Each box has it's own card and your old card will not work in the new box.

I got the same box as you for free also, it was vm that phoned me and offered it me with a no fee self install. Only catch is that they've slyly tied me to a new 12 month contract! Not happy at that .
