Hello
I would'nt waste your money mate in buying a starview 5 or any non vermin cable box as nagra 3 will render them useless.
You will find lots of retailers tiring to off load there cable boxes knowing whats around the comer with nagra 3,lots of area's in the UK have already changed over to nagra 3,its just a matter of time b4 they all do.

can I have your opinion on the following
If nag 3 is the case for coventry, your options are Starview 6 (tried and tested by me, works great a few channels missing but they will come on over time & probably the cheapest box on the market), Starview Combo (HD version, currently got known glitching problems in some areas and is at least ?50 more than SV6, also a few channels missing). The combo is a great box as its capable of handling satellite and cable all in one box.I'm sure a software fix should resolve that so keep an eye on it
The kryptview u have 2 options either buy a A750 model with a I connector device (slightly bigger than a box of 20 fags) or u can buy the newer latest model which is DM500 which is a HD version, The kryptview is by far the best box but it also comes at a price. All channels working.
Both brands named above will only work via cs, so u must have a internet connection to the box for it to work, Both starviews have a ethernet ports so getting connected the net is straight forward, the A750 does not have a ethernet port which is why you must have the I-connector device which retails for approx ?100. Hope this helps.
The kryptviews are worth the extra money from my exp cos whenever stuff goes down, the kryptview bandwagon has the quickest fix avail and starview are always playing catch up. But if your on tight budget then starviews it is. Both brands are very well supported.
And I've just been told by a friend kryptview have got something called A780 which has ethernet port built in works fine or so i've been told. You'll have to do a bit of research for price of thisComment

hi mate everybody will have there own opinions and mine is cable c/s with any box is not the way to go,its either pay vermin or go the sat route,i think the cable c/s will end in tears, but as i say thats just MYopinion, end of the day only you can decide good luckComment

everybody will have diff opinions about this, I was very confused as well, but I decided to bite the bullet stick with cable CS and see how I get along, so far I've been ok, plus there is good forum support for both cable and satellite
For me I just did not want satellite as it does not look cosmetically nice, plus I've got a big house and a very high roof so to wire satellite cable from the back of my house (where dish would be) to the front (where tele is) would just have been a nightmare, getting mega high ladders, probably 50 meters of cable, I just couldn't be asked.
Satellite is huge as there are so many channels, so many avenues, receivers, all depends on what you want to watch and what your preferences are, HD? recording facilty? Value for money?
LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite is a good place to look at what channels and what packages are avail on satComment

Bought the sat set-up , but getting a c/s payserver is another thing , the one site i've found , offfering genuine payservers , costs silly money to join and that's before your monthly sub.
Pay vermin or sly , or do without and get a freeview and b*llocks to the lot !

Starview Combo and sv6
i was wondering about getting one , but as the signal is being received / sent from a server, who is sending it and for how long , and could some one els provide the signal / encryption needed for this box, my out look is you pay for what you get , so if its to cheap its to good to be true , people don't do things for nothingComment
