With most services today a lot of data is sent down the cable for Phone Broadband, Tv ,and IP services, from the main terminal normaly in each area ( A Box on the side of the road) can measure the usage of there service in each area, if the area has more demand on the service than it should then they will scan the area for unofficial users, they do this by listening to what each house is watching by scanning the air waves, so How can you watch Sky 1 if you do not have cable or Sky, they will also have subscription lists of theses services usualy given to them by TV TV Licensing and subscription providers.

If you have bought your equipment such as a dreambox all they can do is cut the cable away from your house with a cort order and disable you from using there service again

If you have modified one of there receivers for the purpose of hacking further channels from there service they will prosecute you fully and you will get fined a large amount cash.

To get away with this Hack its adviseable to subscribe to something if only a basic Package, They will have details of your subscription if the scan the area again you will never get a knock on the door again.
