Glasgow Boxes Gone??

Hi guys, i was last on here in Jan this year when that pig Branson was messing about with the codes, all was working perfect until about 2 weeks ago.

all music, movies and a few other channels are gone.

I have a D Box in living room, and digivox in the bedroom.

I read through the site and seen alot about N3, i am not too clued up onexactly what this means though.

Is it the end for my boxes? Can i get new firmware put on them?

Any help would be really appreciated.

In a nutshell, when your area goes over to Nag3 it's the end for your box. There is no fix and not likely to ever be one.

what is Nag3 anyway? Sorry for the questiones, i guess i kinda took the free tv for granted.

It's an encryption which has been around the sat scene for a couple of years and has never been hacked. Virgin media are rolling it out all over the uk, most places are on Nag3 already with a few prepared to go over very soon.

thanks again for getting back to me, i had heard rumours that they were on the way out, but i trusted there would always be a way around it, seems not.

So, i am still picking up Sky sports etc, will these go soon too??

One last question, my mate, recently got a box with a 'chipped' card, he stays 5 min from me, he is on holiday just now, so cant find out if his will still be going strong, or will he be done too?

Chipped card. . There is no such thing, and never has been. The old MOSC cards were just cracked, and rewritten with different details. As Bulld0g said, its the end of free cable for one and all.

Only telling you what he told me mate, said he has V Plus box with a card for it??? Spoke to him today, he has lost same channels as me.

Sports still work, any idea when these are likely to go too??
