Non Virgin cable box question

I am a paying subscriber of Virgin TV but the Virgin V+ HD box only hold 80 hours worth of recordings due to the limited hard drive space

I was wondering if it is possible to buy a non Virgin HD cable box with a bigger hard drive and just stick my Virgin card it.

Will it work?

no it wont, why not get a bigger hard drive for your existing box
