    Virmin query

Now that birmingham has been hit with nag3, I was wondering...If i were to purchase a genuine virmin box, would i be able to get the freeview channels on there? or would i need to pay for a card...i feel that the kryptview A780 and the starview 6 are still at an embryotic phase so i'd rather go down the freeview path for a bit before inevitably going down that road

a penny for your thoughts please

well it's because i don't have an outdoor aerial, so with freeview it'll be hit and miss...but i'm missing the freeview channels, i suppose it's the kryptview then

        many thanks for the feedback

Just pay for basic package. If no-one paid then they would go bust. Dont be tight.

It's an astute suggestion but with only two minor drawbacks, 1, i'm a student, and 2, i'm a brummy :P

Whats being a student got to do with it? Students are loaded!!
Seriously I alway paid for min package when i had chipped boxes as it was heap considering I had free TV and free 20mb nbroadband plus it ensured that they did not disconnect the me at the green box.
You can also just plug the wire into te the ariel socket and get some channels.

I used to run a bar at uni, it was always rammed so I know being a student does not mean your skint, thats just a saying that all students learn when they are asked for money! I'm also a Brummie & always pais subs to vermin for the same reason as thewizardofodds, plus it's good to give a little.
PS in central brum & no new cards as yet, although it is only a mater of time

                            LOL!!!!!!! more time for study...indeed

many thanks for the feedback, please don't get it twisted, i've been a paying cable subscriber since 2002, but it was just always about the internet...i think it seems right to give virmin a bit of thanks by getting a subscription...i mean the third party tv path went on for years...

Students are indeed not loaded during the summer for they request all the readies for the new term, it's always the spend now, save later vibe

Many thanks for all your feedback

they do student deals on broadband but dont think they do it for tv BUT if you only have broadband I think they give you a free tv box with just the freeview. They do this in the hope that you spend loads on the on demand stuff
