Am lookin at getting a second cable box (4 another room) but installing myself. will the cable company be aware of this or do i need to remove the return feed?

A Virgin media box do you mean ? You will need another card with the box. Have you thought of using an AV sender instead ?

not on a dbox they're not m8. You need 2 boxes and 2 cards to view. If you use a different box and your area is nag3 it wont work, when your area goes to nag3 it will not work.

would a subbed card work in a dreambox 500c? my thinking is u could have this in another room and just use the same card. dont know if it is possible
edit: just realised u wanna use both boxes at same time.

each box needs a card matching the serial no. on back of box.Comment

it is possible to use ur subbed card in the dreambox but u need the details from ur subbed box and this is only possible on the older V boxes, pace, samsung 2100c.
The details would then be put into the dreambox software to emulate your subbed box.
you could then share the card between 2 dreamboxes or the like, the legality of this is in question.....your certainly breaking the T & C you agreed to with V*M but sharing a card you subscribe to over you own network is open to debate...
