general question about c/s technology and existing boxes?

    Hi,
I'm after an opinion of some thoughts I've had recently how a c/s system works and whether the same theory could work for certain existing boxes with pc link capabilities....
My thoughts are about how the technology works based on nagra3...

Is it possible that a viewing card could be cloned? Basically the data copied onto a pc? Forget wherefrom at moment, I'm thinking technically...
If this is possible, then could a virtual image be setup on a home pc of the information that a connected box could read from emulating a card reader?
Obviously a network connection wouldn't be required with the risk of traceability ? Could this work for otherboxes like eurovox7000 which can update from usb...
Surely a card can be cloned and this idea have some validity?
The ethics and legality of where a clone comes from are a different matter but I'm ultimately trying to understand why our pcs can't play more of a part?
I guess it comes down to can the card be copied?..
Id be interested to hear sensible views on this...
