Any way to manually make a Jtag USB cable

I need to connect my cable modem to my PC but cannot find any place that carries then Jtag cable that I need, if any one knows how to make one manually, would really help me out...

a usb jtag is a very complicated thing to make yourself in comparison to a rs232 jtag

I have no serial port on my laptop to connect cable modem.I have a usb serial converter cable,I have instaled driver ok,come to down load new firmware it is trying to send it to com port 3,laptop is saying connected to com port 16 can I change this & how.down load saying waiting for reply of cable box.

you can change comport settings in device manager

From what i've read you need to have a certain number of beneficial posts on here. Meaning posts that don't say, hi...yo..etc etc. I believe someone mentioned it above.
