Credit on cable boxes?

My mate reckons there is a cable lad (now the info is vague on this) going round putting credit on cable boxes and getting them up an running for ?100!

i dont understand how you could put credit on a cable box, has anybody heard of this?

he is going to see 1 up and running today so i've told him to put my name down on 1 if they work, i pesonally dont belive it but anything is worth a go!

i'll let you know what comes of his visit!

ive seen this happen lately, customer has the basic pack and dick says let me see your cable bill etc.
then he takes card away for an hour and when he comes back you got sports movies etc.
all he does is phone the cc and say he is the customer and upgrade the package
customer then pays dick 100 quid for a 50p phone call
all is hunky dory till the bill comes next month....you have been warned
