I am sure they would be more interested in the upload servers than the end users.
I am also sure that the folks behind the KV are well aware of this and have taken the necessary precautions.
As an end user with any concerns look at using a commercial VPN service. Worth it for a few quid for piece of mind and also can be used for much more than a free TV service.I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas AdamsComment

NO, its against the law for them to log the dataflow of a customer, it would breach EU privacy laws

I would beg to differ personally....
How can they "nail you" for downloading MP3s\vids if this was the case?
I would suspect that if it IS the case, then whatever loophole they use for catching you doing this, they will exploit for cardsharing data...- probably the server & IP..
I am unsure about CS - i think its a door that will be shut...quickly.
I hope im wrong..

not sure of that, they don't need to "log" your data, just a simple or deep packet inspection and a flag if you connect to such servers/ports, etc. same way they do for music/video stuff.
what i was thinking of - and i'm so new to this - was to maybe get a cheap PAYG usb mobile bb dongle, prepay for few GB of data and connect it to your KV/DB etc box? this would be almost untraceable.
the other option i thought was maybe to use a linux port of Tor and install it on the box to hide your traffic.
right, now a typical noob Q: i've just got my 1st cable installation for bb + phone and was thinking of DB600 before knowing about this whole n3 thing only few hours ago! it seems a780 would be a better bet right now then, right?

Hi RuggerPlumber - there is nothing wrong with being inquisitive - My profession and lifestyle dictates that I have all the facts before deliberating and making an informed decision on any project I undertake. I would hope that other individuals are as diligent when investigating a piece of technology they are not familiar with and obtaining the relevant facts before making a decision that requires a financial commitment .BTUK2003 apeears to be asking a lot of mmmm Inquisitive questions I would call them, they type of question that somemne who is trying to incvestisgate how free tv is available as oppossed to sticking to basic questions! Like; Whats the best box? What do I do to make it Work? and best place to buy? The only 3 questions anyone needs. Or is it me being sceptical!!
To this end I thank BarrowmanAndrew for all his assistance and advice on this particular thread.
Cheers Again
