    V+ box shafted?

Got a V+ box and up till the other day everything was great.
Got home from work tonight and stuck on some telly and the remote decided it was having none of it, channel up and down change the channel, all other buttons have decided to go on holiday.

Theres no epg, no access to the home screen when you press "home" nada, zilch...
The batteries where obviously my first port of call, new AAA's and still its exactly the same, the box registers by flashing its led that its reciving a signal from the remote, its just not doing anything with it.

Pushing the reset button had resulted in nothing either...

I dont want to have to call in virgin if i can help it, 9000hrs on hold to tech support doesnt exactly rock my world. anyone have any ideas?

this may sound strange but my old mans (the black samsung ) froze so i call virmin after trying everything powering on/off taking the card out ect ect .They said they would send some one out the next day to fix it.But in the mean time my dad unplugged his modem for some unknown reason when the modem booted back up the V+ box started working again god knows why but it worked
