@bluereal - click on the file dude and save it to your PC, if you cannot download yet, you will need to wait an hour for your download rights to be assigned, server is soooo busy right now, will need to be patient with it..

Hi Guys!
I am so new to all this. Up until a few years ago the only use I had for the coputer they gave me at work was to stick post-it notes on the monitor!
Can someone please assume that I am incredibly thick and talk me through what I have to do with my Dreambox DM 500 c to get it to receive Virgin Media again. The wife is giving me an earful because she can't watch her favourite "Women Who Kill"!!!
Is there any way, with just the remote thingy that I can effect whatever changes are needed?
BTW Why would you want to connect the Dream Box to the Internet? What will it do?

Ok folks, don't exactly know what's going on today. Is it a genuine problem with VM? Have they changed the keyroll method? I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

There's a PC application that will give you the keys and they work.

The keys are not auto updating for me so manual entry of the keys is required. Either FTP to the box and edit the /var/keys/Keylist.txt (evocamd) or /var/keys/Softcam.Key (mgcamd) file with the new keys or use Tuxbox Commander or another plugin to edit them. The files will most likely have more than one line of keys, the top two are the ones in use, you can delete all other lines. In the KeyMaster application, there is a space between each set of two characters, there should be NO space in the keylist.txt file, it should be a continuous line of 16 characters (0123456789ABCDEF).

Using the KeyMaster application, the keys still need to be updated by someone at the other end, it's not an autop update program so if they are not workig, give it time, don't be posting that it doesn't work.

If you can manually edit the keys on your box, you'll be ok for the short term.

Hi, first time poster so please bear with me. Followed the instructions and I now can ftp to the dreambox (I'm quite pleased that I have got this far!!). I have also located the key file.

Do I need a new key? If so where do I get it?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I said I was new, i.e. not much of a clue. I have seen the file on the first page but do not know what to do with it. Do I need to open it or copy it to the dreambox.

Been looking on this site for 2 days as to what to do to get my 500c back up. I am learning slowly and hope that I will get it working again soon, but its realy confusing with all these abreveations. I mean how the hell do we know what they mean? Please keep it all simple and explain what your all talking about. Thanks. Great site if you need help though even if you aint got a clue what everyone talking about.
