Hi, i'm a newbee to the site, just joined and its my first post, can anyone point me in the right direction please.
Like many my box has stopped, constantly says "please wait code being updated".
My firmware is 1.0 ST4 Jul 15 2008, this is what the box came with and has not been updated.
Also the HD has never worked correctly, only recording the set programs when it feels like it.
Any help with these 2 items would be wonderful, thanks.
your the man thanks finaly got the file open thanks
[QUOTE=Devilfish;70405]Ok folks, don't exactly know what's going on today. Is it a genuine problem with VM? Have they changed the keyroll method? I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.
There's a PC application that will give you the keys and they work.
The keys are not auto updating for me so manual entry of the keys is required. Either FTP to the box and edit the /var/keys/Keylist.txt (evocamd) or /var/keys/Softcam.Key (mgcamd) file with the new keys or use Tuxbox Commander or another plugin to edit them. The files will most likely have more than one line of keys, the top two are the ones in use, you can delete all other lines. In the KeyMaster application, there is a space between each set of two characters, there should be NO space in the keylist.txt file, it should be a continuous line of 16 characters (0123456789ABCDEF).
Using the KeyMaster application, the keys still need to be updated by someone at the other end, it's not an autop update program so if they are not workig, give it time, don't be posting that it doesn't work.
If you can manually edit the keys on your box, you'll be ok for the short term.
More info when we get it.
EDIT: There is also an automatic key updater for those who have direct ftp access to their box, two clicks and the keys are updated.

Ok here goes. Firstly Hello & Good morning. As I am new here and joined yesterday I have been reading alot of info. I came across how to manually update your keys. Unfortunately, it has not worked for me yet. I at one point late last night deleted all my keys fron keylist. This morning when I checked my box the keys reappeared. It still does not fix my problem no sky 1 etc.
I would like to know what a cross over cable looks like e.g. be greatful for a pic of one.
Please could someone tell me what I need to change. I have a Dream 500 box 2.0 evocam and does the AU need to be changed if so where do I change this.
