Will virgin hd box work with normall virgin signal

Hi, I have a new samsung LED tv with no scart input, only hdmi and usb inputs. bought a cable composite to hdmi but will not pick up signal from the normal virgin box. If I buy a Virgin hd box and plug in the signal cable and plug in the signal from the hd box via hdmi cable will this work? Dont want to buy one and find it doesn't work.

I have checked all the hdmi ports and all work with PS3 output.

    Please help

a virgin v+ hd box has hdmi out so yes it will work

i think the default output on the box is scart though so you will need to turn on the hdmi output before you will get a picture

        no

you can get std def channels through hdmi too but you will need to get the v+ activated before you can use the v+ function, unless you get the standard hd box without the v+ recording function
if you dont subscribe to hd you will not get hd channels is all but i think you will need the basic hd package to get a hd box from vm to begin with
