    Vulnerability in V+?

    hey everyone,

here's a question for the more technical guys. is there or has there been any work on finding vulnerabilities on V+ boxes? I mean any way to get in, install a rootkit or some sort of exploit and get it to talk to the card to decrypt the codes?

before that i maybe should've asked what is the cable tv protocol? is it IP? if yes, maybe there's a way of capturing data over cable, find a vulnerable box and exploit it as above?

    cheers.

the key is the smartcard mate... if the smartcard is breached and can be read, then everything falls into place. However, first its up to whoever to find the exploit in the chip of the card. Finding the exploit can take a long long time. Once thats found then programmers can go onto programming emulators... smartcards etc etc. I think people know what they are doing and i'm sure in time a hack will come out, but to say the least don't hold your breath for it.
