Heh. I've been using MythTV for my PVR for a long time.

When I first installed it, I was using Sky to feed the Myth box through 2 bttv "wintv" style cards, two original Sky boxes with normal cards.

When I had Sky installed, the guy looked at me rather strangely when I asked him to install both boxes on top of each other in the attic next to a PC.

Of course, due to Sky's stupid policy of not providing a CAM, I started to learn about softcams. NDS is still not fully compromised, therefore you require a valid subbed card - However, for a softcam solution, you only need one card per box, rather than one per tuner as with a normal CAM. So, I'm currently using Sky through the PC with a valid card.

I would really like to do this with TW - I'm not really interested in stealing service, just ease-of-use and not paying twice for something.

However, now I'm looking at a system that's currently autorolling without plastic. Yay.

I agree with the first poster in this thread about being suspicious of some people in here, I think he is spot on. I have seen some dodgy questioning going on over that last couple of days that I am unhappy about and seeing a post like the one I have quoted just makes me more suspicious..

Well if you want to leave one in your house connected to their service when VM come knocking then thats your call. When they come back with the coppers then its still your call. I think you would be the only who sit there a brazen it out. Some people have been raided for no apparent reason over recent weeks, but have been arrested for having this kit in their house connected to VM. The only reason they could think they got done was because they were grassed by somebody.

Many users here have kids at home (you may as well) and the last think they want is a criminal record, they know the risk they take by having a box but minimise the chances of being caught with it connected to VM by using the necessary caution. To do otherwise is foolish and will get you that criminal record that affects your work, credit and family etc etc.. If it makes us all pussys to take this approach that fine by us and rather than using then that is fine. If you wanna use your own singular method, why not show how ballsy you are and wear a t shirt or jacket (as its cold) saying ' i steal cable TV'. Then i will be impressed.

i think you took it the wrong way, of corse you wouldnt leave it on if they were knocking at your door, but to rush around and shit ya pants when a van is simply in the street aint good.
