are you trying to say you have two v+ boxes obviously and two modems and would like to reduce to one of each to reduce your vm bill and still have access to tv and internet in the second room?
if so what hardware you need to do it.

are you talking about genuine vm boxes?

sorry what i am trying to say is if i want to downgrade my services with v.m. to the min package but still want to gain access to all channels, i only have one modem situated in lounge, do i need to buy 2 additional boxes and can they still be run from one modem. i hope i've made a bit more sense

if the two additional boxes you are talking about are cable tv boxes that require internet connection then yes i would think you would be ok with one modem but you are going to need a router to take both connections as the modem will only have one lan connection.
what are the elements in the basic package you are thinking of getting?
