samsung v box volume to loud

hi chaps i have a samsung v box connected to my tv and a dream box when i set my surround sound level my dreambox is great perfect volume levels but when i turn my virgin box on the volume is to loud when i put the volume on the minimum its to loud another level lower its then muted

i guess what i mean is the increments are to big

can any one suggest anything

hi m8 press in up an down butons together when u boot box, if i can remember rite the volume level is on first page...
