Which is best: Starview 4 The Box or Eurovox EX5000

I am looking at getting either a Starview 4 The Box or a Eurovox EX5000 - (I want a box with PVR - twin tuners would have been great but there don't seem to be any).
My question is which is the better box?

    Starview 4

    Hi mate,

The Starview 4 has a PVR connection for an external hard drive, don't know much more about either of the boxes but I favour this box for that reason.

    Looking to buy one myself..........

I have just got a starview 4 box and highly recommend it it as easy to set up and get working and with the chaos at the moment with the keys rolling twice or thrice a day the starview is very simple to get back online (30 seconds) where some of the other boxes you need to hook it to your PC and FTP the updated keys, my money is on the starview.

      hope this helps G

        eurovox ex5000

I have the eurovox ex5000,I have the 120 gb hard drive that slots neatly into the front.Ive not had a problem with the performance of the box in the slightest only the fact we have to change keys manually at the moment but i dont find it too much bother and im sure the software wont be long arriving.I dont know much about the technical side but the recording and epg on the ex5000 impresses me alot.Hope this helps.

I've had a SV4 for about 4/5 weeks. Great box! The latest ver 1.05 firmware allows timer recording. I'm using a hi speed 8 gig USB stick, also a 250 gig HDD for recording.
The recording, playback, timeshift work OK and picture quality is good. No problems so far! Compares favourably with SV1 and SV2.

            The Box PVR ?

I have found a box with twin tuners i.e. you can watch one channel while recording another - The Box PVR - https://www.bubblecableboxes.com/pro...-Box-PVR.html#

Does anyone have one, whats the quality like and are there any problems with them?

I personally like the Starview PVR, although it does have certain issues which might annoy the next man! such as recording doesnt ALWAYS seem to work! sometimes if you are recording a channel, another channels signal might not work,

The main reason for this I think is coz its not supported no more (correct me if I'm wrong) and the last update was October last year I think, this is probably the single biggest reason that might put people off buying one! Also the fact that there hasnt been a update 'yet' to the problem which we've all been having over the past week could be another reason maybe not to invest in one!

But like I say I still like it, I suppose I've got used to it!

Go for a linux box mate definately recommend an itgate or dreambox, there is so much more you can do with an open source and when the sh*t finally hits the fan these will be the ones left standing, starviews, eurovox will just become an expensive freeview box!!
