please help no boot menu

trying to upload new firm ware on sv3 .when i switch my sv on it does not come up boot or ld30 it just comes on and says on then comes on channel number ,thus i cannot upload new firm ware does any one know what i can do or is my sv bricked .i know its not my leads or any thing else as i have done my mums no problem ,please help if you can ,
