        Sorry Mate

I can't find any info regarding optimal settings for your TV, Have you had a play with the settings in the sky box and the TV to try and sharpen up the PQ?

But You have tried two different HDMI Cables aint you?

If not try another one, Just borrow one from a mate to try.

If you have tried two have you tried a different HDMI socket on the TV?

                      Is It This one

Luxor 42ins Digital LCD TV - Full 1080P HD | TVs | ASDA direct

If It is here's a quote from the review

the picture quality is rubbish, years since i had a telly with such poor quality, not sharp picture.meshy. bought last night ,returning today. i know its cheap but not even worth that amount. would not recommend
So you been into setup and altered the the settings for HDMI to see if you can select 1080p instead of 520p.

Switch everything off and connect it with a scart cable 1st. once thats done go into your TV settings and see if you can alter the HDMI settings to 1080p.

Then shut down box and TV and connect up again with HDMI . see if that helps if not mate sorry I'm lost.

                        another review

Well it comes in a nice box, it's pretty cheap at ? 375 but then so is the quality and so are my socks. Is it really worth me going into detail about it and it's functions. If the picture doesn't seem to be any good then anything else is pointless.
My old plasma is better and that's not even HD. It seems to have a blocky picture and not that clear. it's got good colour but don't confuse good colour with a good picture.
A fast moving picture is so blurry it hurts my eyes just trying to focus on it.
Now Carry on searching for a decent LCD
This thing is going back in the morning.
However the TV looks nice when in switched off mode. makes the place look good.

Return it and spend the money on another

And there we go. Cheap and nasty TV, CMO panel inside, made up of every piece of low-rent dog cr@p going. Power supply will probably blow within 18 months; and finding one will be a nightmare. Go spend another 150 and buy a Samsung; least they can be repaired.
