So whats the future for cable tv

How often do you think cable will keep breaking it down, Do you think it will happen more often know they have worked out the system

I think they will keep playing with it - it is just part of the game we all play.

Long term I think it will all go video on demand and our boxes will be book ends. How will that take? Who knows so just enjoy it while you can. I don't think they have the band width to do it anyway.

nothing new has happened, these cat and mouse games have been going on for years, they get knocked off and work-arounds appear within days, this will continue until they invest in better encryption like sky have.

they have to at least make an effort especially as sky are breathing down their necks demanding they sort their piracy problems out, it seems nothing happened for a long time, then the deal to bring back sky one, two etc back to cable was done and behold....the fun started! and long may it go on!

Virgin have committed to having IPTV (internt on demand telly) running nationally by 2011.

Therefore the latest these will work is end 2010. Realistically certain areas will be cut off prior to that.

I'm gonna be investing in Sat equipment prior to that date!

No point in getting the PVR model then, if it's only gonna last for anothe year or so!
But whats the deal with the Sat equipment?
Footballers spend 90 minutes pretending their injured. RUGBY PLAYERS SPEND 80 MINUTES PRETENDING THEIR NOT!

If you have a genuine 600 with swapable tuners you can replace the cable tuner with a sat one if and when required.
