What's the best smartcard programmer on the market ?

I now realise that i need a smartcard programmer to be able to change the codes for my Pace NTL box . I've read the Novice Angel Guide but it seems a bit outdated and the links are obsolete in this field , so could someone please tell me what's the best hardware on the market for my needs ( changing the codes on my smartcard when Virgin busts it ) , any leads etc. , and also what software would also be required . This would be for a Pace DI4010 box . Thanks again for all your help

I use a USB Infinity programmer to program my card. This costs about ?30 and the card costs ?5, you could buy a dreambox for ?60 and forget about programming a card and and at the same time get one hell of lot more than your PACE.

very good point mate and so is this......

if you buy an alternate box there's the added bonus that you wont be using STOLEN property! (a lot of ppl forget that one )

If you don't use a box supplied by THEM than it makes no difference what box you use to connect to their network.

Bantheriver you dont need to buy a dreambox. you could buy a much cheaper programmer with a card. if you know your box details (often written on the bottom of the box) its not difficult once you get the hang of it.

i've asked him numerous times already if he has the boxkey and ird but he wont answer the question for what reason i'm not sure.....so i gave up on him.

i also suggested au fun or au atmega as there both cheap and very easy to do.

My trader had a sudden memory lapse so I got myself a programmer for ?26 rather than pay him ?20 to do my box and guess what I have done my box myself two or three times now by myself.
