Dead Box

Sorry Sticky and everyone else I have tried everything and I still can't get the box to work.

Last week the box went down like everyone elses. I tried the fixes on this site to no avail. I then tried to upload a new image and this is where the problems occured.

I managed to FTP to the box (from my laptop running vista) using what I have been told is a cross over cable. Managed to upload keys etc no problem (thanks to the forums), though couldn't get them to work.

I then tried to upload an new image through the box. I now can no longer see anything on the box and cannot ftp to it anymore. The green light is on on the box but I cannot switch it off using the remote, it doesn't respond to the remote at all.

I have tried dreamup, I can only get COM3, no COM1 option. I have followed the instruction to the ...now switch on dreambox and nothing happens.

I have tried downloading flashwizard, nothing.

I have read loads of messages, tried to connect through the router, tried pinging unplugging and holding the on off button and turning on, all to no avail.

Is there a factory reset that does not require ftping, dreamup, i.e. inside the box buttons on the remote etc, or is my box defunct.

Any help will be much appreciated

You probably need to flash it with an erase image , null modem cable and dreamup to clear out the image that is corrupted in your box.
