my uncle had a box called eurostar or eurovision

Hi all i know this is old news to all you experienced people but i did a search myself on google and on this forum but couldn't find a answer so i had to post a question on here

my uncle had a box called eurostar or eurovision or something (not eurovox)

it was a HD box which said usb etc etc on the face

when i looked closely there were to Ethernet cables going to a adapter which was connected to the box.

can anybody on here confirm the name of the box, and the method of getting it setup.
(i don't want to ask my uncle)

i have heard of cccam and card sharing on the forums but cannot get my head around things

The box he has is a euroview HD. Its another name which has rebranded from Starview HD. Works with Virmin and require Internet connection like all Cardsharing Boxs but has a RS232 connection which converts serial to ethernet

i seen the box on wizardsatellite but its a bit pricey for me at ?199 i think. (im in two minds)

especially if its the same as the starview 7 ? (which is ?99.

contradicting myself now (RE.. price), i saw the VU+ and fell in love with that when i saw it has VLC player ( i have all the latest movies in flv and divx)

i am aware of it being a linux box, however would the VU+ work with virmin at this point in time ?

any info would be greatly appreciated

VU+ box is for satellite so you would need a dish & pay server
subs if it doesn't come with a GIFT included in price

vu+ duo is around ?365 +sat dish+lnbs+cable and maybe motorized dish no gift supplied
the old starview combo is sat and cable box around ?199 i thought,but the down time on server during footy may drive you mad,also the cable side has a 1 yr on first connection with lan,after a year =no connection on cable so you can only use the sat side.

Is this name for the cable box or something else.If you are using a dish then name it,it will be carrying the manufacturer user guide and also have name of the product,they offer to you,if it not help then follow the web search for the product.
