We have a virgin cable box downstairs, and a cable relaying the picture upstairs (i can only watch what is on downstairs not other channels). I have just bought a tv with intergrated freeview, and i can't receive freeview in my area (couldnt find any tvs without it!!!). Was hoping that i could just plug the tv into the cable again but its not working, and it just says no signal?!? Am i doing something wrong? or will it not work because theres freeview on it? please help!
Please help with TV problem :)

Your upstairs TV was previously getting an RF or analogue signal from the cable box.We have a virgin cable box downstairs, and a cable relaying the picture upstairs (i can only watch what is on downstairs not other channels). Your new TV needs a digital (DVB-T) signal which you can only get from an external aerial.Comment

Your cable box and tv should have scart sockets?
If so, you can use a scart sender kit (wireless). Maplin do one for about ?40.

Your new TV should still have an Analogue tuner built-in as well, so look on the remote for a button marked TV/DTV or similar to select between Analogue and Digital. If the output of the Virgin box has not already been tuned in then you will have to run the installation routine from the menu system making sure the Virgin box is switched on at the time.Comment
