    New Box / Card Pairing...

Hi guys, i have a general question regarding VM original boxes, i am a paid up subscriber and was wondering if i was to get a V+ box or the HD boxes can i pair my card with them and if so how?

I have currently borrowed a VM V box to test and when i put my card in it complains that the card does not match the box. how do i pair them?

Many thanks for any helpful replies. !!

You cannot pair any box which you acquire from somewhere else.

There must be a way, they aren't paired out of the box (NEW). is pairing done by remote by VM ?

yes when u get a new box and card u have to phone vermin so they can activate ur card to ur box, ie pairing them together, since the arrival of n3 there is no way of doin ur own boxes and cards anymore.....

Virgin Media will not pair equipment which has not been provided by themselves.

could ya not just tell them your channels have stopped working and let them activate the card without them knowing its in a different box

                      No.

Another thing to remember is that VM or their predecessors have nefer sold or given any boxes. Boxes at all times remain their property so if you have been given or bought one you have tecnically received goods unlawfully.

                        Advice to the OP.

If I read you correctly, you are a subscriber to Virgin Media who currently only has the basic STB. You would like to replace this box with a V+.

This can be done legitimately for ?69 with no additional monthly charge, assuming you are on TV XL. If you are not on TV XL, there would be an additional charge of ?5 per month.

So if your not getting stung on the XL package i effectively would have to pay a ?60 a year to rent it off them. That sucks. maybe ill just get them and see if they want to buy the V+ boxes off me... or ill strip them for parts.
