Hi im looking to get a new box but still dont no wat to get
A friend has a kriptview says its great but id like to record
ive looked at the starview 7 and think its prop the one ill go for but wat puts me of it is hearing about the freezing and the server going down does this happen often id be mostly getting it for the sports

Ive also looked at the dream box as ive also got a sat dish but my understanding of it is you need to download alot of software and then pay for card sharing every 12 m is true

All you say about cable boxes is true. If you got a sat dreambox
with PVR function you only need an image & Cccam or similar.
All the info is on this forum. The subs you pay server would
balance with subs you would pay Vermin

hi mate have looked at the dreambox but i thought it was difficult to set up then i would have to pay for cards

Ive tried to look at how images and ccams work but didnt really have a clue about them and how do you find a card sharer and is there any way to get sky channels without csharing

Was a Dreambox virgin a few months ago,now im more a veteran helping others out on the site.

They aint plug and play and was a cable man before.

Now i wouldnt ever go back,Sat is the way forward.

Half the fun is picking stuff up learning from other posts and getting stuck.

Most start with a Dm 500 with Pli image installed and once you get confident move onto the Dm 800hd.

I promise you that you wont look back.

Biggest decision is whether to have a fixed dish or go motorised.

If you have an old Sky dish that a good start but most like motorised, alot more options and channels.

        Andy.

The channs will scan in on the box OK. Non-FTA channels will be
encrypted so can't be viewed. To clear these channs you need to
connect box LAN to broadband router. You need to google
              card/share for the rest
