DDigital firmware goes wrong using STB manager envision (

hi folks,,,

tonight i tried so hard to connect my Ddigital box to my pc and update the firmware.but something seems to have gone wrong .. but i cant get my head around it.. I appreciate anyone who can give me a tip or abit of advice .. see where things are going wrong...

the pieces i have..

1- latest software ( MV-ENVISION.exe)
2-latest firmware for Ddigital (FIXED DD 281108.bin) I tried this one too (DDIGITAL_UK_FINAPI_080303.bin).

3- rs 232 cable both ends female,


* I tried to connect the box .. I went to the secret menu and then 2580 it said (enable channel)..

* then I tried to load the .bin file to the box,, but i get this error...which says ( The downloading is not requested)... and it also says ( Read REQ fail!)

I tried different Model types in the software and also connect ports...but it doesnt make any difference...

Start with the box off at the back switch..procceed to flash...then flick the power on at the back of the box.

Try to use a different software guys.

I had the same problem and realised that there is a difference in software. Some work with old DDigital box (DDigital) and other work with the more recent box (DDigital Plus).

I am not an expert but I realise that the software called MV-ENVISION.exe works with DDigital box not DDigital Plus.

If your box is DDigital Plus then try to find another software for DDigital plus. In all cases please follow the procedure as mentioned above.

How to

Right it seems a lot of people here are newbies like myself and do not know where to start so I thought I would post this to help.

OK step 1.
Make sure you have
1 RS232 Cable (If you DON'T have a RS232 port a USB to RS323 adapter)
2 The Envision.exe Loader
3 The FIXED DD 281106.bin

Step 2
Start the loader In the SAT section!!!!

Step 3
Select > Loader > Code > Code Send

Step 4
Load the FIXED DD281106.bin

Step 5
Select you com port i.e com 3

Step 6 IMPORTANT!!!!
Make sure you Ddigital Box is OFF AT THE BACK SWITCH!!!!!!

Step 7
Connect your RS323 cable to your box and PC

Step 8
Hit the SEND BUTTON and immediately switch on the box from the BACK switch

Step 9
You should see the box start to flash with the letter "d" on the LCD pannel
and wait for the progress bar to finish

Step 10
Your box is done. You may need to rescan for channels, but I did not the new EMU NUMBER IS 8888 NOT!!! 2580!!

well done Sparks, finally got mine workin thanks to all the 8's. i've been trying all sorts and you are the first person to mention the new code my first post on here was that 2580 was doing nothing and i have been helped 2 weeks later by another newbie (no offence).

Your not making sense nesta. If you followed it step by step then you would SEE!!!! the box updating as it takes a good few mins..
If you don't see the progress bar moving OR the box its self flashing on the LCD panel then there is problem with your PHYSICAL connection!!
Are you using and RS232 adpater if so do you have the correct drivers?
