    Hi m8 welcome to DK.
There are many threads which have asked the same Q as you.
Its a personal choice but the KV a780 seem to have better support/firmware and no time limit...so far.
Installing software is easy on both boxes, just make sure you have the correct rs232 cable/usb adaptor.

I wouldn't say they were similarly priced. One costs about 50% more than the other.

If it were my hard-earned cash I was looking to spend, I'd put in a bit of research and try to form an opinion myself. Few people own both and a lot of people express opinions without owning either.

Welcome to the site - this is a good place to start.

Is it easy to set up these boxes for complete viewing of all channels.

Starview might be easy to setup because it has an usb connection but I don't like the fact that it runs out after 12 months.

With the KRYPTVIEW A780 you need an null cable or null cable to usb and thats all. Once you have patched you are done. It can update itself via your router.
I would go for KRYPTVIEW A780 mate, there is no limit on that.
Make sure you do your homework before you decide wich one. >>>>> http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...utorial-42524/

What sort of channels do you get on these?

Do you have to pay a subscription as well?

I had a look on their websites, but doesn't really give you any info :/

                        Kryptview for me.

Pay your money and take your chances. SV7 may be cheaper but have a look around the current starview section to give you some ideas of problems they're having.
