Sorry for posting this again - but i posted it on the starview page 1st then thought that i should have posted it here

just another roumor but i have been told that virmin are phoning existing customers and trying to get them to update to their new boxes with extra facilities and extra chanells for free at no extra charge - but thies new boxes have a special chip built in to them that will inform virmin if you connect a dodgy box - to your existing proper box i do not know how true this roumor is but in the light of the past few weeks i can believe this to be true time will tell

I heard that virgin have paid Santa claus to create a list of people using unauthorized equipment when he is dropping of his presents on christmas eve just a rumour.

It's nonsense mate. There is no 'special chip' that can do anything of the sort, and if there was, they'd not fit it to a reciever.

You hear lots of whacky rumours in this game.

Virgin - Warning

i have a digivox with virgin cable. Having re-scanned my programmes I noticed I now have a tv channel which basically says something like:

Please be aware that your set top box is unauthorised and therefore illegal. Blah Blah Blah. If you have any questions about your illegal connnection please call this number ......

Frequency is: 339.00
Constellation: 64 QAM
Looks like some pay per view option on it.

Sorry - not that knowledgable when it comes this stuff.

Does anyone else have this warning channel who are Virgin Cable customers ?

Can they track me down for using a digivox?

Why are you connecting your Other box to your original box anyway, there is no need to do this, let the data flow, straight through.

Thanks mate you have just reasured me santa his reall !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my kids told me he was not.
must remember not to put the carrots and wine near my box though
