    Buying a V+ Box

If i was to obtain a Virgin V+ box would i have a problem getting it working?

We already have a V+ box in the downstairs room but i want one in the bedroom. i dont want to pay ?100.

I have a friend who has just gone over to Sky and he has a V+ box he doesnt need anymore - i know these boxes use a totaly different sim card to the normal Virgin boxes.

My question is - Do you think if i explained my situation to Virgin they would send me the card to set up the box.

    Or is there another way?

This box will not work. You cannot avoid paying Virgin Media both the one-off and ongoing monthly costs for a second V+.

PS Your friend may get an unwanted bill if and when he cannot return the V+ to Virgin Media.

Highly unlikely as you actually buy the V+ box from Virgin unlike the standard box.

not so sure about that m8...
according to the vermin reps i have spoken to, vermin never sell any of thier boxes. (unless i have been misinformed)
you may have to pay a one off payment to upgrade, but you are basically renting the box from them.....

advantage: if it breaks you get it fixed for free.

disadvantage: they will ask for box back if you cancell your sub and charge you a small fortune if it is not returned.....

their boxes need to be paired with cards anyway so the box will be useless to you apart from channels 1-5 i think.....

Your are mistaken. Virgin Media do not sell boxes and you never become the owner.

When you leave Virgin Media, they will ask for the box back (if they want it) and charge you for its non-return.

Why don't you just plug it into your bedroom and when you are going to bed just take the card out of you legit box and put it in upstairs box??????

You cant do that. The card is paired to the box. Each box has to have its own card.

What about a Magic Eye or Digisender-cost is involved but will enable you to view upstairs and use the remote.

can you use magic eye with V+ box ? , just that I have one which I bought for sky box around 6-7 years ago & it would be nice to change channels from bedroom , didn't think Vboxes sent out 9V supply through RF

As I have said before and you have chosen to ignore, Virgin Media do not sell equipment and you never become the owner. Why do you persist in this (wrong) belief?
