...then you have been mis-informed or not understood or did not ask the correct question or have assumed something.

I will repeat (and you can choose either to believe me or not) - Virgin Media do not sell STBs. At all times, all STBs remain the property of Virgin Media.

PS Ask Virgin Media if you can sell your V+.

Here is a quote from the Virgin Media website page on the V+:

V+ HD Box remains the property of Virgin Media.

Reference the small print at the bottom of this page in the HD section:

V+ HD Box | HD TV Television Packages - Virgin Media Shop

The Box Belongs to Virgin that is why you do not get charged if it needs reparing -- unlike Sly that charge for a call out

We already have a V+ box in the downstairs room but i want one in the bedroom. i dont want to pay ?100.

I have a friend who has just gone over to Sky and he has a V+ box he doesnt need anymore - i know these boxes use a totaly different sim card to the normal Virgin boxes.

My question is - Do you think if i explained my situation to Virgin they would send me the card to set up the box.

          Or is there another way?
if you subscribe you can get a multiroom box for less than ?10 a month without hd content but will be an hd box they give you .
a box from another house wont be reactivated by virgin in your house they would take it away and give you a new one , if the box is active it would work at your place if same net id quite a few guys are buying a sub with multiroom and shareing costs with m8s .
all vm boxes belong to vm they never sell there boxes
