    dreambox or itgate 220

    hi folks, i have a eurovox max v, working with everthing. thinking of getting a new box, i need a bit of advice. what is the better box of these 2,? dreambox dm 800 or itgate 220. do u put the firmwire in like a eurovox or is it a bit more tricky,? a little help will go a long way, thanks

    i updated a itgate 220 for a m8 on friday had never seen 1 in the flesh nice lookin box but as for updatin it woz a different matter.it took me a wee while to suss it when i done that it took about 20mins to write the software to it then a full scan another 10 mins but all in all it woz not 2 bad apart from the time.not played with a dm 800 yet.

      dont have an itgate but hear they are very good. dreambox is also very good and cheaper. dont think you will go wrong either way.

        go for itgate 220, i had it for past 6 months, never had problem and quite easy to update.

          hi folks, do we have a idiots guide to updating both. reading on forums here and on others and everything is very up and down. want to know how to do it for both boxes before i decide what to buy. thanks for all your help

            i would go for dreambox as there more users out there for them and support is very good.

              The Dreambox 800 supports HDTV, the ITgate is basically a Dreambox 500 with a USB port.

              The DM800 is far superior.

              Both are Linux so just go for whichever you prefer, if you need HDTV then it must be the DM800.

                brought an itgate... what do i do next

                hi, sad case newbie here....... i looked around and got an itgate 220 of an auction site ~bay.
                so can any 1 give me the details on what 2do next.
                and whats commando v10?.
                do i need to run both vmbox and itgate?....... sorry i feel right thick at this.
