Thats exactly what you DONT want to do, this is what will ultmately kill the hobbyist scene and pushes the hands of service providers to introduce counter measures against CS.Join the band wagon then and do the same. Set up a decent server and bingo bango and try and maintain it when everyone's sucking the bandwidth out it.
All i am saying is people expect to pay a 1 off fee and get perfection. Doesn't work like that. Used to do when we had the old encryption but not now.
Although there was as much moaning and panic then when keys changed.
People get greedy and try to make profits out of something that has been on the sat scene for years and was originally a hobby for enthusiasts.
Large scale payservers will be the target of the service providers and law enforcement and rightly so... You can always expect issues like downtime, and poor service from large comemrcial payservers, because of their greed and wanting to make more profit they oversubscribe the servers with more clients than they can handle....Comment

Just checked mine stately home on again (furk hall) as you say two many people got boxes and kv servers are inadequate money money money is what its about . these people arnt like the old boys of the dreambox etc era when it was being done for fun, in my opinion they are now only being kept going to get rid of whatever boxes are left on the shelf (so to speak) if they are being sold cheap enough people will still buy them in a vain hope they come back on as when i bought mine (not cheaply and about 2 weeks before the brown sticky stuff hit the fan) i hoped it would last for ever but in reality knew it wouldnt, when dealing in these matters you have to be realistic. servers dont make money selling boxes does just be gratefull for what you have/had and when it goes off forever do the same thing that most of us did with our dboxes etc whatever that was when they went off

Think the hobbyist scene is inexorably on the decline. Whisch is rather unfortunate but one has to face the reality and its inevitable profounditudenessity.Thats exactly what you DONT want to do, this is what will ultmately kill the hobbyist scene and pushes the hands of service providers to introduce counter measures against CS.

I'm inexplicably in wholesome occupation of Furk Hall...!!Just checked mine stately home on again (furk hall) as you say two many people got boxes and kv servers are inadequate money money money is what its about . these people arnt like the old boys of the dreambox etc era when it was being done for fun, in my opinion they are now only being kept going to get rid of whatever boxes are left on the shelf (so to speak) if they are being sold cheap enough people will still buy them in a vain hope they come back on as when i bought mine (not cheaply and about 2 weeks before the brown sticky stuff hit the fan) i hoped it would last for ever but in reality knew it wouldnt, when dealing in these matters you have to be realistic. servers dont make money selling boxes does just be gratefull for what you have/had and when it goes off forever do the same thing that most of us did with our dboxes etc whatever that was when they went off

Well in my opinion, they won't/shouldn't do that.... thats not how business works, especially if they are planning on launching another box. KV are in a brilliant position to cut their losses, keep the a780 alive and lanuch a new box, keeping everyone happy and STILL make money in the process. Since they would make the loss back in the booming new box sales as alot of people want HD. So that would only work if that ethic was kept quiet and no one never knew any different to their losses and intent.. any serious business that wants to keep striving has to face up to losses at some point. But you are trying to second guess what they may do because of whats happened recently...in my opinion they are now only being kept going to get rid of whatever boxes are left on the shelf (so to speak) if they are being sold cheap enough people will still buy them in a vain hope they come back on as when i bought mine (not cheaply and about 2 weeks before the brown sticky stuff hit the fan) i hoped it would last for ever but in reality knew it wouldnt, when dealing in these matters you have to be realistic. servers dont make money selling boxes does just be gratefull for what you have/had and when it goes off forever do the same thing that most of us did with our dboxes etc whatever that was when they went off
If that was their intent as of this moment, they would go about it properly like- a new box introduced(the HD box) then the a780 boxes would now be labelled discontinued and remaining stock sold, then everyone would know to only expect months from the current box(probably 6 months or so) so then no one can moan they never got a good deal, then they would move to only supporting the HD box...
That would seem the more ethical and sane thing to do.. keeping their name and business intact and still making moneyLast edited by Sirus; 13 May, 2011, 22:52.Comment

sirus i do hope that they do keep going but these people are after money what you dont seem to be grasping is when i first found out about dboxes etc the peeps that where doing the do were "hobbyists" that were doing it to help peeps like me that dont have a great understanding of tech stuff so we could come onto dk read and understand enough to get our boxes going again when vermin changed keys etc these are the guys that i am grateful to the problem is when nag 3 came about it left a void that "buisnessmen" (i use the term loosley" have steped in with what could be a quick earner for them as for the hd boxes you and i both know pretty much 100% certain that if the current kvs go off peeps will throw them in the bin and buy whatever comes along in there place in the hope of getting somthing on the cheep and good luck to them maybee it will last a bit longer than the current boxes have i am not slaging kv off but people have to live in the real world this is cs not encription busting you are dependant on people making money at it and when the risk out ways profit its gonna go offComment

well i for one dont like that, it sounds like starview take on things, why not keep the 750 & 780 going it has always been in there favour, and dont know about other peeps but i would need to see kv up and funtioning perfect with all channels befor i would consider a HD version Sirus.
