make sure your lan cable works and is connected straight to router or modem, box router and modem may need powering off at rear for 30 secs then on to get a connection then after a min try the s/w update and dont touch anything until box reboots, then factory reset and rescan and reboot all units again

Does it say lates on or "Already Updated". If it says the latter its done.

When you have the box on an encrypted channel try rebooting the router and leaving for two minutes then try the update.

also double check in system info what firmware date it says is on box.

Re _ Install Jan Firmware !

Hi Pizzaman , first of all to sort out a problem you need to get to the root of it first! I assume your box works ok and gets FTA channels etc . I assume also you have tried the flick of the power switch at the back of your box when in SEARCH mode for the S/W update mode ?? If you have tried everything as you say and still nothing , you may be best to update the box manually again after a FACTORY default using the NULL modem cable method to put the January Firmware on the box again and allow the box to reboot etc. After you have done this check once again that the box works ok after doing the setup and channel scan WITHOUT the Lan cable connected !! If all is ok at this point , then connect upto your LAN and reboot the modem and Router FIRST ! Then try to update the NEW software update from the MENU of your KV . If it hangs in the SEARCH mode , quickly flick the power switch off and on at the back of the KV and hopefully this will allow the update of the NEW software available .
If this fails then you could try putting the original FTA software back on the box and then repeat this whole process again mentioned above . If after that it still doesnt work i would say you have a dodgy box that needs to be returned to whom you bought it off ok . Dont forget to put the ORIGINAL software on the box before sending it back !! Please let us know if you have any joy with these trial and error methods ok
